Apollo City

APOLLO CITY was born July 24th 1969 the day that the Apollo 11 came back from orbit and landed here on Earth.  Not wanting to allow this momentous occasion, a boon for mankind, pass us by with a simple notation in the history books,  six major corporations set out designing the future from the huge success of the Apollo lunar program & it’s technology, continuing it’s momentum into something much larger.

Each began developing a different “space race” technology that would eventually become what is now known as APOLLO CITY.

The city of the future, it houses the most advanced technology known to man in communications, transportation, biology and more.  Some of the worlds largest scientific breakthroughs have happened (or were initiated) right here in AC since the late 1970’s.

Unfortunately, with advanced technology comes the pension for using said technology in advanced ways.  Ways never intended by their inventors.  Ways that could potentially hurt each and every one of us, or worse.

One such incident being the “Power Storm”.  The result of an epic battle between the cities first psionic defenderSOL and the demonic BLACK JAW that resulted in both mans sudden death bathing the city with three distinct forms of psionic energy that permeated any living thing or item made of once living materials.

Since then the “Power Storm” ebbs and flows like the oceans tide on a fairly consistent 180 day cycle leaving hundreds effected with some form of psionic ability for weeks at a time.

Midnight Talon

REAL NAME:
Jason Connor

POWERS:
Jason possess the ability to alter his center of  gravity as well as slightly altering the effect of gravity for any item he’s laid his hands on, and having a minute effect over gravity as a whole within the immediate area around him.

HISTORY:
Jason Connors fell in love with Natalie Preston (RavenStar) who grew up idolizing her father Paul. So when Paul Preston abruptly shifted his business from space tourism to hunting alien artifacts here on earth she naturally supported him 100%. She spent summers on all of his digs where she and Jason would meet and fall in love.  It would also be where Jason’s life changed forever.

It was there that Paul Preston and his crew discovered the first alien repository hundreds of years old that had been reactivated upon the inhabitants of this planet (Earth) sending space ships up into outer space and then bringing them back down again. The first discovery led to others, four repositories in all had been kept here by an alien species years ago.

The technological, and biological, discoveries would have been the find of the century and thrusting Paul Preston into an intense lime light. That is, until his Daughter Natalie and her boyfriend Jason Connor were accidental infused with alien dna profiles…

This is one of my “Roof Running” night vigilante characters who’s lightly powered.  He’s inspired by Nightwing, Hawk from Hawk & Dove, MoonKnight, Solitaire, Batman, & The Nightman.

Paladin Brigade

REAL NAME:
Mark “Brax” Braxton

POWERS:
Like all members of the Paladin Brigade Brax operates a custom made & tailored suit of armor that utilizes the inactive “psionic” abilities coded inside his genome to enhance its user with increased strength, speed, and stamina as well as being tapped into a state of the art multifaceted satellite surveillance and communication network.

HISTORY:
The Brigade offers tactical support, investigative services, fugitive retrieval services, fugitive apprehension services, and more for the world court’s ‘Criminal Psionic Consortium‘ in the investigation and apprehension of psionic criminals.  It’s largest client/partner is the U.S. Marshal Service although the Brigade does have a public division as well.

Brax is a charter member of the Brigade, clocking thousands of hours in Virtual Reality while the technology was being developed.  Once a petty thief and criminal Brax was offered a chance to redeem him self and allowed out of prison to test his limited psionics in the Brigade’s technology.  He now operates as a trainer and teacher of new recruits as well as federal officers who are not with the Brigade but use it’s technology.
